I always thought that tango and salsa were like opposites but Ernest and Maricela
showed us that we were too rigid in our hips.  Raquel and I have been practicing what
we learned this weekend in Elk and our milonga is working like never before. Back
ochos have never been so smooth and front ochos in close embrace are a delight. I
feel like our bodies have been oiled up!

In July 2008 Ernest and Maricela gave wonderful workshops on dancing tango in
relaxed style, Canyengue. They created tremendous creative positive energy in the
class which lasted well into the late practica.

We just had a great week-end of great workshops with Ernest and
Maricela, here in Oakland. The kick off was on July 26.

Every comment was a positive one : great teachers... great people...
great study subjects. We can't wait to have them come back soon (we
quickly arrange already to have them in Oakland in late January).
I am very proud to know them. Great things are on the way :-)
Great day to all!

Ernest & Maricela Are Big Hits in Nebraska!

Ernest Williams and Maricela Wilson were in Omaha and Lincoln last Tuesday &
Wednesday and won the hearts of their students. They gave us yet another perspective
of dancing Tango and made us all think about the many variations that are available to
us.  They will be on the West Coast for about a month and returning home through
Nebraska in late August.  We will be communicating with them in hopes of additional
workshops at that time!  We very much appreciate Katy & Brant Robinson introducing
their friends to us!

Mel & Susan....again THANK YOU so much for opening your home for this wonderful
Tango weekend [with Ernest & Maricela].  We thoroughly enjoyed Saturday and do so
wish we could have stayed for Sunday!!!

Ernest and Maricela....THANK YOU for wonderful instruction, tips on technique and for
being such great instructors.  We will definitely be "wherever" for your next weekend in
Nebraska.  We really got a lot out of our private lessons as well ~ you both do an
outstanding job of teaching and critiquing.

And, last but not least....THANK YOU Brant and Katy for getting Ernest and Maricela to
Nebraska.  We had a great time.

Great Classes!!

I am the other half of the Sandy-and-Lenny team that came to your class in Albq.  We
were the only ones from Santa Fe in class.  We both loved your Sunday classes and
your teaching style.  You are warm, welcoming, creative, and gave the group cayengue
and milongas techniques that we can all use!  More importantly, you have to know that
we've never been in a class where there was so much laughter and willingness to try
EVERYTHING you gave us!  Thanks and I'm so looking forward to the next time we can
have a class with you!

I just want to reiterate some of the very positive comments I heard and say again that
I'm so glad you were able to come and do classes here in Albuquerque. You both are
excellent teachers, as well as a joy to host and work with. Everyone had a good time
and learned from your classes. People said it was one of the most fun and
educational days they had-- ever. You are professional, knowledgeable and work
together as a great team.

We definitely want to invite you back to Albuquerque for a whole weekend workshop!

Warmest regards,

We had some incredible workshops with Ernest Williams from Chicago this
weekend, which included Candombe, Canyengue and other roots of tango dancing
and music. What a delight and advantage to understand more about these influences
of tango! If you have a chance, try to get him in to teach some workshops. One
advantage is that he was able to assist our local community in some musicality
issues that I believe were long neglected.

Understanding the roots of the music and the way that a variety of the
Argentine and Uruguayan cultures interpreted it is extremely helpful in interpreting
tango with our own dance style.

Then, as we are talking about connectivity, he taught workshops on Matrix Tango. This
is a way to improve connectivity through very slow, very connected dancing. Quite
enlightening!

Dancing with Ernest Williams is like sipping fine cognac --
smooth, with a little heat.
Ernest is by far one of Chicago's best teachers. He understands tango's subtle
concepts and is able to convey that info to his students in practical lessons. He has
taught me to love all styles of tango.

Taking classes at one of Chicago’s leading Salsa schools has been helpful, but
sometimes with 30 people in the class even an experienced teacher has a hard time
explaining everything. Enter Maricela Wilson…her knowledge, expertise and patience
has helped me tremendously, teaching shines, proper body movement and answering
about a thousand questions has given me a great deal of confidence. I and people
whom I dance with can tell the difference.

This past weekend Ernest Williams was in town and put on a heck of tango demo
using my wife, who’s never followed tango before (though she did lead once in a
beginning tango class). So we snagged a private lesson on Monday night and oh my,
oh my, oh my… I could so easily become as absorbed in Tango as I am in Lindy Hop.
